Pécs and its Surroundings on Two Wheels

The diverse landscapes of the southern region offers countless opportunities for cycling enthusiasts, whether you prefer the bustling city life or the peaceful forest trails.

Below, we have gathered a few nearby routes and attractions for both beginner and advanced cyclists. Start your journey from  Fordan Hotel into nature!

FOR BEGINNERS

  • Pécs City Center – Discover our historic downtown with a pleasant cycling tour!

  • Tüskésréti Lake – Malomvölgy Route – A light tour on the edge of the city where nature meets the urban environment.

Starting from  Fordan Hotel, you’ll reach Tüskésréti Lake after a gentle 5 kilometers. The lake is surrounded by a running track, a modern playground, and a café by the water. While swimming isn’t allowed, you can enjoy wakeboarding during the season! From there, continue for another 9 km to Malomvölgy. Most of the route is on a designated bike path or through quiet, peaceful side streets.

  • Pellérd Bike Path – A calm, shaded route where you can enjoy the proximity of nature. Part of the path is lined with streams and forest, providing a pleasant climate even in hot weather. Starting from Fordan Hotel, the route is 8.4 km and can be completed in about 30 minutes.

FOR INTERMEDIATES

Flóra pihenő - Hintával és csodás kilátással Pécs városára - Mecsek legszebb pontjai
Flóra Rest Stop – With swings and a stunning view of the city of Pécs – One of the most beautiful spots in Mecsek.
  • Égervölgyi Lake and Jakab Hill, Pálos Monastery Ruins – Starting from our hotel, it takes about 6.3 km and approximately 27 minutes to reach Égervölgy, where you’ll be greeted by wonderful natural treasures. Continuing from there, it’s another 6 km and 45 minutes to reach the Pálos Monastery ruins on Jakab Hill. The first part of the route is pleasant with minimal inclines, while the second part features more uphill sections, but as an intermediate cyclist, it offers a delightful ride!

  • Flóra Rest Stop and Mandulás – A challenging tour for those who enjoy uphill riding. It’s only 4 km, but some sections have nearly a 10% incline. This section can be replaced with a serpentine, slightly longer route. Expect a riding time of approximately 30-60 minutes.
